How to replace your iPod Battery
Posted by ste01153 under iPod Tips on Saturday Jul 31, 2010iPods are a great invention, but many have complained about the lack of playing time and poor battery life. Previously, replacing an iPod battery was nearly impossible. So if your battery dies, it’s time for a new iPod. This of course proved to be extremely expensive. As a result, manufacturers have begun producing aftermarket for a DIY iPod Battery conscious producer. There may even high capacity batteries, which in principle can find more playing time on the iPod, compared to the original iPod batteries. An even better incentive to replace that dying battery!
I know what you think, you do not want to tear up that shiny iPod of yours! Aftermarket iPod batteries were designed to complete the installation as simple as possible (it was not really hard to start anyway). Since the batteries installation requires no soldering, the most difficult part is to open the physical case. Since the iPod does not contain any screws, the housing from the internal battery opened. I do not recommend using a screwdriver to this, as is the case cause damage. A plectrum is recommended to do the job, but even better, some batteries required with non scratch nylon tools are open to make sure your iPod.
Below are some instructions to install the battery. I am aware that more than one
Steps to install the battery:
• Put your iPod on a piece of cloth o non scratch surface. Do not scratch tools, slowly it is sealed under the lid and begin to pry the lid off. You can hear him start to open. Work your way by sliding the tool along the edges.
• The iPod is basically made up of two halves. With the two halves separated, put the empty shell aside.
• The other half is on all internal components. You should be able to give the battery, on the ground. You’ll see that the battery on the motherboard of the iPod is connected. Carefully remove the old battery by pulling on the ends of the slot.
• Get your new iPod battery and plug into the socket in the connector on your board. The connection is only one way to ensure that you will paste it right up.
• If everything is connected, turn the back cover along the edges of the two halves.
• Plug in your charger and let your new iPod for at least 4 hours. All new batteries should have a larger than normal charge the first time.
• Now you are ready to enjoy your music again!
